Rosalina, Spider Ballerina – A Dance Story for Kids | Kids Books Ages 4–8 | Picture Book on Perseverance & Self-Esteem | Pre-K to Grade 3 by Demers
Rosalina has always had a dream: to train and become a ballerina! But in the village of Swallowtail, it’s believed that only butterflies (and sometimes a few bees) can aspire to such a role. Will Rosalina manage to achieve the feat of becoming the very first spider ballerina? Theme: dance - perseverance - difference Key Points:Adorable illustrations that immerse us in enchanting settings. Helps ease the primal fear of spiders. Encourages dialogue about the importance of being open to others, embracing differences, and recognizing everyone’s strengths. An appendix that allows for a discussion on perseverance and achievement. A spider that’s as cute as she is lovable. By the same illustrator as I Wouldn’t Hurt a Fly. Véronique Demers has taught dance in daycare centers and schools for many years. She has been a primary school teacher for fifteen years, with a focus on fostering creativity and self-esteem in her students. This is her first children's book.

Four Point Five Stars
Beautiful story. In the town of Swallowtail, butterflies and some bees alone learn ballet. But Rosalina, the little spider, wants nothing more than to dance. With her father's help, she is accepted into the Academy. What happens after that?
What is so special is that the book deals with the deep theme of following one's dream in the imaginary world of insects in a very cute manner. Through Albert, the book even explains about prejudice and what it does to the minds of people, young and old, in a very simple manner.
Beautiful illustrations and lovely inspirational tale for kids. Enjoyable read.
Thank you for the ARC Netgalley.
