Buckaroo Beau Loses His Hat (Buckaroo Beau Books) by Kacy Burke (Author), Mel Schroeder (Illustrator)

Buckaroo Beau is ready for his next big ride, but where is his hat? He can't find it anywhere, and that makes him downright MAD! As his frustration grows, he looks high and low and asks everyone around, but no one has seen it.
Can he manage to find his hat...or at least calm down... before his anger gets the best of him?

This fifth book in the Buckaroo Beau Books series tackles big feelings little cowboys and cowgirls face both in and out of the arena. A nod to positive thinking and sportsmanship, this fun, rhyming story is the perfect read for children learning to navigate their feelings when things don’t go as planned.

A must-read for little cowboys, cowgirls, and any child learning to manage big emotions with courage and heart.

If your family loves Little Blue Truck, The Bad Seed, or stories about country life and friendship, they’ll fall in love with Buckaroo Beau Loses His Hat, a charming, rhyming picture book that helps kids recognize frustration and find calm when things don’t go their way.

Perfect for ages 3–7, this Western-themed children’s book blends humor, heart, and emotional growth. Parents, teachers, and counselors will appreciate how it gently introduces anger management, sportsmanship, and positive thinking in a way kids truly understand.

Ideal for fans of cowboy picture books, farm life stories, and social-emotional learning (SEL) read-alouds for preschool, kindergarten, and first grade.

My Review:

🌟🌟🌟🌟

Four Point Three Stars

Lovely book for older kids. Through Buckaroo Beau who has lost his hat and Buckaroo Beau’s mother, the book teaches kids the importance of keeping one’s anger under check and not to let frustration get the better of us. Lovely illustrations and told in a rhythmic fashion, it is a good read for older kids.
