“This book is a gem, and I can see people of all ages enjoying it,” Jo Hanna (Best Book Editor)
No Children Allowed, is a curious sign to see outside a toyshop. Perdita certainly thought so. But there it was for all to see, as plain as the nose on her face.
When children and old men and animals start disappearing from the town, who is to blame? Everyone says THEY are, those strange people who camp by the forest. That’s where the witch lives.
But Perdita knows, you should never judge a book by its cover, and the first rule in her How to Become a Detective Manual, is that everyone is innocent until proved guilty.

What a tale!
Four Point Five Stars
From the minute I read the 'No children allowed' outside the toyshop, I knew the story could not be a simple story. It was not.
Perdita has always wanted to go to Professor Eberhardt's toyshop and she is horrified when she sees the 'No children allowed' sign.
She is determined to get a toy for herself from the shop, but then the mysterious thing in the town for which 'They' are blamed, comes to light. 'They' have been following the Professor and dangerous things happen when 'They' come to town.
Following her father's footsteps, Perdita tries to solve the mystery, but the danger comes too close to home.
The description in the story and the world-building was out of the world and it was beautiful and creepy at the same time.
Perfect middle-grade book about challenging prejudices with the right sense of mystery at Christmas.
