She thought she was commuting to work. She was wrong. When Aurora steps into the subway, she expects another ordinary day at work. Instead, she steps into a world of dragons, Emberstone and a centuries-old war. Aeltheryn is ruled by fire and fate, and fate has chosen her. Bound to a dragon who should have died, drawn to a prince she shouldn’t have, Aurora holds the power that can stop a war or ignite one.

An unexpected fantasy trip to the world of Aeltheryn
Four Point Two Stars
Aurora Quinn’s mundane commute to work takes a cosmic turn when she exits a subway car with a token from the mysterious being and she finds herself far away from Earth on a vibrant planet illuminated by two suns.
The world-building is truly enchanting, and I found the characters and creatures inhabiting this new world, right from the powerful wizards and the other beings and the drakewardens to the mystical beings truly unique.
I laughed when I read about Aurora wondering about how to greet the new king and queen of the land, after being rescued by a prince and the Prince’s dragon. The story is also peppered with enough ‘sayings’ from Earth as the other people of Aeltheryn have no idea what she is talking about.
Apart from that, Aurora is thrust into a world of magic and ancient destiny where she must navigate a kingdom at war for many years.
Then she goes on to discover her own incredible powers.
It was a satisfying read to watch her evolve from a junior editor into the hero with special powers as she tries to secure a Peace Treaty for the realm.
